Project 365 | Week 26

Buckle up, it’s a good one.

Day 177:

My daddy spoons his gym shoes on in the morning.

My father instructed me on how to spoon shoes on which will probably be an anecdote I share to exhaustion with my own children.  My mother was cleaning out the garage this week and said, “They didn’t have anymore White American so I had to get yellow, and I prefer white which means I’m a cheese racist.  What’s worse is I prefer Sesame, so I’m a seed racist.”

If only all of you lived in my house, you would understand why I want to be a writer – you HAVE to write what you hear at the gray house with large oak tree.

Day 178:

Cat Lady Propaganda

My favorite used bookstore, Reader’s Corner, Inc.  has posters everywhere.  This one was in the outside section where books are 10 cents to 25 cents and at night, they’re on borrowing terms.   Some people you know may have gotten drunk in college and went to the clubs, my friends and I went on late night used bookstore runs where we found copies of Bridget Jones Diary and read aloud from the hoods of cars.

Reader’s Corner, Inc. is one of the best used bookstores in the Triangle because anything they find in the books given to them is posted on the shelves.  There are newspaper comics, old pictures from Rocky Mountain trips, lists of father’s expectations for his daughters, and secret love notes signed with lipstick kisses.

Day 179:

Bumper Sticker Wisdom

On New Years someone had a “Reading is Sexy” bumper sticker and ever since it’s been the sign for my year.  Lucky for me, Reader’s Corner Inc. sells these bumper stickers in large and small sizes.  I’m just happy the girl has kind of curly hair – it’s almost as if they wanted her to fit for all hair types because she has this beach wave barbie hair.

Day 180:

I see you

Clay monster eyes make the most hipster instagram picture ever.  I can’t believe “hipster” is an actual dictionary term; there’s no red squiggly line to tell me it’s wrong, maybe I’ve saved it before.

Awake my Soul Scraps

Our art teacher at the teen center, Mrs. Shirley (and she looks like a Shirley too, not a Laverne) brings scraps of paper to make plaster paris busts.  I use scrap paper to fill in my funky letters and sponge suns into the background.   Oddly enough, I saw Brave last night and the short film, La Luna.  This short film was lovely and dear, and awake.  Preview below:

Day 181:

Young Obi-Wan

I want everyone to know that when I write the Next Great American Novel, it will be with this young Obi-Wan.  It takes Jedi powers to write a classic.

Day 182:

Classic Book Covers – XXX

Eat at Flaming Amy’s! and be seated with vintage book covers.  Ouuuu, ahhhh.

Day 183:

Carolina Beach Thrills

There’s a town-size fair at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk.  There’s also the best donuts you’ve ever eaten, Britt’s. In fact I’m going to microwave one right now. (Don’t worry mom, I’ve been eating lots of fruits and vegetables too).

Day 184:

What dance does your Mother do?

I love corny popsicle jokes. That’s the best part of the popsicle.

Great Project 365! I enjoyed all of your strange pictures. It will be rough to outdo this week in pictures, only one problem though. Where is that ego-centric cat of yours? He must be so upset that he was left out this week.

    • Cassie says:

Haha, he missed out this week. He didn’t do anything adorable as usual. : ) He will have to get back into modeling this week – maybe we’re both on a bit of a vacation.

Well if you ever come to the coast of North Carolina – go eat Burritos at Flaming Amy’s!! You will not regret it. It has a salsa bar – yum! What is your favorite restaurant where you are. Maybe we should do a geography switch and you can come live at my house and eat burritos and I will come live at yours and eat your favorites. : )

I love the words Ice Lolly – will have to use that with my nephew next time.

You are the sweetest. I’m definitely addicted to starbucks. The one closest to my work became a drive-thru and that was the end for me right there. : )
