P is for Poetry

Obviously…we’ve been through this before.  My relationship with my blog alludes all the time to my relationship with the written, sliced-up form of poetry.  And today rather than just…talk your ear off with my love of poetry (and this being National Poetry Month) I’m going to put up one youtube video of my favorite black-female poet reading.  I feel it’s important to note that she’s black, and she’s a female, and she’s a fuckin’ goddess in her green head scarf.
Her latest book is $9.00, used on amazon, just in case anyone is so moved (which you will be so prepare to zip open those wallets ladies, and unfold that duck-taped mess full of condoms and other mischievous items men).

  1. Without poetry the world as we know it would be less colorful. Right now the form of poem I enjoy the most is the haiku for the challenge of crafting beauty into the 5-7-5 syllable form. Thanks for sharing, and it’s a pleasure to meet you from the A-Z Challenge!
